Hi all:
I seem to only post on the boards when I have a question/proglem...:) Anyway, I just set up my Hotmail account through Microsoft Outlook. Even though the "play sound when new messages arrive" checkbox is checked in the options, no sound plays when I check for new messages, or when new messages arrive in my inbox or any other folder, for that matter, and yes, I do have a sound associated with that particular action in the Windows sound scheme. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the fact that Hotmail is an http account and not pop3 or imap, but that doesn't make *too* much sense, because I can hear the newmail sound using my Hotmail account through Outlook Express just fine. But maybe it just doesn't work in Microsoft Outlook with an http account, I don't know. Any suggestions/comments/help would be appreciated. You can either reply here or send me an email through the link in my profile.
Thanks.

Hi Liz.
I'm not sure if you heard this before, but Microsoft Outlook is mainly a business style email program. So to my extend, it's not really designed to make the sound for http mail accounts. As you might have noticed, in the Outlook program, there's more to do than just send email. Hope this helps.
Hi:
Thanks for the response. Yes, I noticed it does do more than send email.
